Mike Dow graduated in Psychology from Aberdeen University in 1971, qualifying as
a Clinical Psychologist from Edinburgh University three years later. He began
his career in clinical psychology at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, Glasgow, becoming
Head of Adult Clinical Psychology Services at Bellsdyke Hospital, Forth Valley,
at Stobhill General Hospital, Glasgow, and finally at NHS Fife, until he retired
in July 2004. Prior to that he has also held a lecturing position in New South
Wales and obtained his PhD from the University of Glasgow in 1983.
His main interests are the management of anxiety disorders and sexual
dysfunction, the use of cognitive-behavioural self-help programmes and other
brief forms of treatment delivery
