Teaching
In the last national teaching assessment, Stirling's Department of Psychology was given the top rating of "Excellent". The Department promotes a very hands-on approach to studying. From the very beginning of their first year, students are involved in practical work where they learn how to design experiments, analyse data and produce concise scientific reports. In addition to practical work, teaching also encompasses integrated programmes of lectures, workshops and seminars.Honours Degree Programme
Psychology can be studied at Stirling either on its own as a Single Honours degree; or else it can be studied in conjunction with another subject as part of a Combined Honours degree. All of the degree programmes we offer are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means our Single and Combined Honours students are automatically eligible for graduate registration with the BPS, a necessary condition for most professional psychology training.
